The project will overcome the practical barriers to delivering work experience and increase the appeal of working within the industry by designing a week of work experience activity that any construction contractor can download and put into practise.

The activity will provide a ‘real life’ project, and a taster of a range of careers. It will link to the curriculum in a range of ways including maths, design technology, science, geography, citizenship and English.

  • Design and produce construction educational resources
  • Publish on Go Construct
  • Deliver to 45 students using 15 industry ambassadors.

Completed project summary

The project finished in November 2017. 306 students attended taster sessions and 52 students attended the full World of Work Experience five day course resulting in increased knowledge and interest in construction careers.  The materials will be made available for construction companies to download and deliver their own work experience programmes.
